Use it to make a complex veal stock, simmer a rich beef stew or chicken and dumplings, or boil pasta for a quick weeknight dinner. The 6-quart pot is the perfect size for everyday family cooking -- a pound of pasta, four to six servings of rice, a large recipe of marinara -- as well as making savory, slow-simmered soups. The 8-quart stockpot is ideal when cooking for a crowd or to stock the freezer.All-Clad Cop-R-Chef combines the warm glow of copper with the durability of a stainless steel interior, so you never have to worry about retinning. The extra-thick copper exterior, a core of pure aluminum (across the bottom and all the way up the sides) and the cooking surface of 18/10 stainless steel are permanently bonded, so you get the beauty and responsiveness of copper, the superior heat conductivity of aluminum, and the nonreactive, stick-resistant benefits of stainless steel. Handles are cast stainless steel with noncorrosive stainless steel rivets for optimum durability. Oven safe to 500 F. Hand-wash using copper cleaner. Made in the USA.

This 6-quart stockpot shows how thoroughly Cop-R-Chef marries form and function. Though not classically tall and narrow, it simmers soups and stocks and accommodates enough ragu Bolognese to feed all the relatives. It's also ideal for braising foods on the stovetop or in the oven under its copper lid. Because the aluminum core extends up the sides, foods cook uniformly, even though the pot is 4-1/4 inches deep (11 inches in diameter). And because the interior is nonreactive, tomatoes and other acidic foods won't taste metallic. Its lid and stay-cool loop handles are riveted for strength and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat.
